Physical Medicine & Rehab Follow Up

Today we met with the PM&R doctor. Jayden looks great & as long as he stays active, we can be discharged from therapies! Woo hoo! His reflexes are back too! We are so happy!  Gillette has been so wonderful, we are so thankful!

Fun at the FunZone

Although these outings sometimes leave him in pain & limping for the night, he loves them. It makes him feel like he is back to normal. He's so close. Still some weakness & ataxia but he does better each week. Having fun with his friends Eli & Luke at Wooddale FunZone.
And of course baby sister...

Slow progress is better than no progress

Jayden had kindergarten enrollment yesterday. Today he had PT and OT then he had his first skating lesson of the year. He has been having more pain and soreness in his legs. He also has been limping intermittently. Most likely its a combination of muscle weakness & soreness and nerve regeneration. Hopefully skating will help build his strength back up. Proud sister watching her big brother!

OT games & reading

Jayden has been doing so well. Today he had to do an obstacle course at his OT appointment. First he rode a tricycle by peddling and stealing with his hands to improve upper arm strength.
Then he went through a tunnel to find puzzle pieces.

One at a time he brought each piece out & then put the puzzle together.

At the end he made a bracelet for mommy with beads to work on dexterity.
He read me "The Day the Crayons Quit" which he loved!

Baby steps...literally!

He no longer needs oxycodone and his pain is well-controlled on gabapentin & amitriptyline. We are so happy!
Jayden has shown a lot of improvement in one week! He can crawl up and down the stairs, stand for 30 seconds holding on to the coffee table or wall, and is improving a lot in therapy.
